Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Conway had an population of 25,848 people. This is an increase of 51.13% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 119.27% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Conway had a population of 17,103 people (which is 6.35% of the total population of Horry County). This makes Conway the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Conway represents 0.37% of the population of South Carolina (which has 4,625,364 people), making it the state's 24th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 17,103 people, the population of Conway increased 45.09% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 11,788 people).

We originally found mention of Conway in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Conway was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Conway post office opened in 1882.

We also found Conway in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
