At the time of the 2010 Census, Taylor had a population of 6,263 people. This makes Taylor the county's 7th most populous community.

The population of Taylor represents 0.05% of the population of Pennsylvania (which has 12,702,379 people), making it the state's 142nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 6,263 people, the population of Taylor decreased 3.27% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 6,475 people).

We originally found mention of Taylor in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Taylor was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Taylor post office opened in 1892.

We also found Taylor on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Pennsylvania (1911).
