How Far From Sandy Hill to ...
We spend a lot of time looking through Gazetteers & Almanacs that were published in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many of the Gazetteers include the distance from a community such as Sandy Hill to various places of note, such as the White House.
With a nod to our favorite Gazetteers and using the location of where the historic<5> community of Sandy Hill once stood, the straight-line distance beginning in Sandy Hill and extending to:
- Uniontown, which is the Seat of Fayette County, lies just to the East Southeast.
- Harrisburg, which is the State Capital of Pennsylvania, lies 154 miles [247.8 km]<2> to the east (E). If you could drive a straight line from Sandy Hill to Harrisburg, with an average speed<6>of 63 miles [101.4 km] per hour, it would take less than three hours to make the trip.
