So far, we found very little information about Kinzua. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Kinzua would have been located within present day Warren County<2>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Kinzua, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1823. The community was inundated by the Allegheny Reservoir.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Kinzua is 1,320 feet [402 m] above sea level.<3>.

Time Zone: The area where Kinzua was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

We originally found mention of Kinzua in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Kinzua was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Kinzua post office opened in 1823.

We also found Kinzua in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
