Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Howard had an population of 735 people. This is an increase of 2.08% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 5.15% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Howard had a population of 720 people. This makes Howard the county's 8th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 720 people, the population of Howard increased 3% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 699 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Howard was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Howard post office opened in 1828.

We also found Howard in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
