Time Zone: Centre County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.
The community of Bellefonte is the Seat for Centre County.
Centre County was founded February 13, 1800. Centre was created by taking area from Huntingdon, Lycoming, Mifflin and Northumberland Counties.
From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Centre had a population of 162,095 people. This is an increase of 5.26% since the last Census (which gave a population of 153,990 people in 2010).
At the time of the 2010 Census, Centre represented 1.21% of the total population of Pennsylvania.
