The location of Corydon has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Corydon, you might consider that their post office opened in 1851. While the community is gone, the present day location for Corydon is 1,630 feet [497 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Corydon was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time If Corydon still existed, it would have been in the (814) area code.
