The origin (or the toponymy) of Vanport City: The name Vanport City is a portmanteau<3> and it reflects the fact that the community was located just south of Vancouver (WA) and north of Portland (OR).
While the community is gone, the present day location for Vanport City is near sea level<4>.
Time Zone: The area where Vanport City was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time
