Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Portland had an population of 654,378 people. This is an increase of 12.09% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 23.67% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Portland had a population of 583,776 people (or 79.39% of the total population of Multnomah County). This makes Portland the county's most populous community.

The population of Portland represents 15.24% of the total population of Oregon (which has 3,831,074 people), making it the state's most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 583,776 people, the population of Portland increased 10.33% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 529,121 people).
