At the time of the 2010 Census, Seaside had a population of 6,457 people (which is 17.43% of the total population of Clatsop County). This makes Seaside the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Seaside represents 0.17% of the total population of Oregon (which has 3,831,074 people), making it the state's 68th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 6,457 people, the population of Seaside increased 9.44% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 5,900 people).

We originally found mention of Seaside in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Seaside was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Seaside post office opened in 1882.

We also found Seaside in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
