So far, we found very little information about Needy. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Needy would have been located within present day Clackamas County<2>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Needy, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1855.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Needy is 170 feet [52 m] above sea level.<3>.

Time Zone: The area where Needy was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

Adding Needy to Our Gazetteer ...

We originally found mention of Needy in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Needy was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Needy post office opened in 1855.

We also found Needy in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
