At the time of the 2010 Census, Elkton had a population of 195 people. This makes Elkton the county's 12th most populous community.
With a 2010 count of 195 people, the population of Elkton increased 32.65% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 147 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Elkton was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>
From that list, the Elkton post office opened in 1851.
We also found Elkton in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
