At the time of the 2010 Census, Madeira had a population of 8,726 people. This makes Madeira the county's 10th most populous community.

The population of Madeira represents 0.08% of the total population of Ohio (which has 11,536,504 people), making it the state's 184th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 8,726 people, the population of Madeira decreased 2.21% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 8,923 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Madeira was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Madeira post office opened in 1867.
