At the time of the 2010 Census, Higginsport had a population of 251 people. This makes Higginsport the county's 9th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 251 people, the population of Higginsport decreased 13.75% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 291 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Higginsport was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Higginsport post office opened in 1829.

We also found Higginsport in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
