We originally found mention of Lawrence in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention that we've found for Lawrence was the List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7> From that list, the Lawrence post office opened in 1897.

We also found Lawrence on a map titled Rand McNally Map of New York (1908).
