From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Fort Ann was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Fort Ann post office opened in 1797.

We also found Fort Ann in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (1803).
