So far, we found very little information about Midas. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Midas was founded in 1882.
While the community is gone, the present day location for Midas is 7,000 feet [2,134 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Midas is about 1¼ mile [or ~2¼ km] above sea level.
Time Zone: The area where Midas was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time

We originally found mention of Midas in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.
From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Midas was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>
From that list, the Midas post office opened in 1882. The Midas post office closed in 1903.
