We originally found mention of Candelaria in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Candelaria was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Candelaria post office opened in 1882.

We also found Candelaria on a map titled George#&160;F. Cram Map of Nevada (1883).
