So far, we found very little information about La Liendre. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

La Liendre would have been located within present day San Miguel County<2>.


The location of La Liendre has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3>


While we don't have a date for the founding of La Liendre, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1878.

While the community is gone, the present day location for La Liendre is 5,690 feet [1,734 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of La Liendre is about 1 mile [or ~1¾ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where La Liendre was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

We originally found mention of La Liendre in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for La Liendre was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the La Liendre post office opened in 1878.
