While we don't have a date for the founding of La Cinta, you might consider that their post office opened in 1877.

While the community is gone, the present day location for La Cinta is 4,040 feet [1,231 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of La Cinta is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level.

We originally found mention of La Cinta in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for La Cinta was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the La Cinta post office opened in 1877. The La Cinta post office closed in 1888.
