The location of La Cinta has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of La Cinta, you might consider that their post office opened in 1877. While the community is gone, the present day location for La Cinta is 4,040 feet [1,231 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of La Cinta is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level.
