While our initial information about Carter came from various goverment sources (GNIS), we also found mention of Carter in various books and other sources.

We've created the following list to keep track of the sources that proved useful in adding to our knowledge about Carter. We hope that they will be useful to you.

Note: Initially, we were careless about keeping track of where our Carter data came from. The following list of references and mentions is incomplete.

 

Carter is contained in a comprehensive list of Post Offices that was created by Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<1>

From that list:

The Carter post office opened in 1906 and had closed by 1917.
