The population of Secaucus represents 0.18% of the population of New Jersey (which has 8,791,894 people), making it the state's 34th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 16,264 people, the population of Secaucus increased 2.09% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 15,931 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Secaucus was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Secaucus post office opened in 1879.
