At the time of the 2010 Census, Hillsboro had a population of 6,011 people. This makes Hillsboro the county's 14th most populous community.

The population of Hillsboro represents 0.46% of the population of New Hampshire (which has 1,316,470 people), making it the state's 56th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 6,011 people, the population of Hillsboro increased 21.98% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 4,928 people).
