Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Bow had an population of 8,001 people. This is an increase of 6.41% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 12.09% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Bow had a population of 7,519 people (which is 5.13% of the total population of Merrimack County). This makes Bow the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Bow represents 0.57% of the population of New Hampshire (which has 1,316,470 people), making it the state's 40th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 7,519 people, the population of Bow increased 5.34% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 7,138 people).

We originally found mention of Bow in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Bow was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Bow post office opened in 1832.

We also found Bow in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
