While we don't have a date for the founding of Wanso, you might consider that their post office opened in 1922. While the community is gone, the present day location for Wanso is 2,340 feet [713 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Wanso is about ½ mile above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Wanso was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel east from Wanso (for example, toward Grenora (ND)), you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).
