Giltedge would have been located within present day Fergus County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Giltedge, you might get a feel for it by knowing that the earliest mention that we've found (so far) was on a map dated 1950.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Giltedge is 4,510 feet [1,375 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Giltedge is about ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Giltedge was on a map titled Map of Montana (from Hixson Map&$160;Co, 1950).
