Cascade County was founded in 1887. Cascade was created by taking area from Chouteau and Meagher Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Cascade had a population of 81,366 people. This is a decrease of 0.17% since the last Census (which gave a population of 81,507 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Cascade represented 8.24% of the total population of Montana.
