At the time of the 2010 Census, Ridgeland had a population of 24,047 people (or 25.26% of the total population of Madison County). This makes Ridgeland the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Ridgeland represents 0.81% of the total population of Mississippi (which has 2,967,297 people), making it the state's 14th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 24,047 people, the population of Ridgeland increased 19.2% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 20,173 people).
