The location of Stockbridge has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Stockbridge, you might consider that their post office opened in 1887. While the community is gone, the present day location for Stockbridge is 840 feet [256 m] above sea level.<4>.
