At the time of the 2010 Census, Milan had a population of 5,836 people. This makes Milan the county's 4th most populous community.

The population of Milan represents 0.06% of the total population of Michigan (which has 9,883,640 people), making it the state's 134th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 5,836 people, the population of Milan increased 22.22% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 4,775 people).
