Welcome to Delaware City ...

So far, we found very little information about Delaware City. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Delaware City , we believe that it would have been located within present day Leavenworth County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Delaware City, you might consider that their post office opened in 1856.

Time Zone: The area where Delaware City was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Delaware City still existed, it would have been in the (913) area code.

Communities Also Named Delaware City ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named Delaware City: This one is located in Leavenworth County and the other is located in Shawnee County.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Delaware City was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Delaware City post office opened in 1856.

We also found Delaware City in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
