So far, we found very little information about Brenham. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Brenham would have been located within present day Kiowa County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Brenham, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1884.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Brenham is 2,190 feet [668 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Brenham is about ½ mile above sea level.

We originally found mention of Brenham in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Brenham was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

We also found Brenham in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
