The location of Amy has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Amy, you might consider that their post office opened in 1906. While the community is gone, the present day location for Amy is 2,850 feet [869 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Amy is about ½ mile above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Amy was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time Amy would have been located in the (620) area code. The community of Amy was previously named Ellen.
