At the time of the 2010 Census, Caldwell had a population of 46,237 people (or 24.47% of the total population of Canyon County). This makes Caldwell the county's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Caldwell represents 2.95% of the total population of Idaho (which has 1,567,582 people), making it the state's 6th most populous community.
