From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Nora Springs was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Nora Springs post office opened in 1861.

We also found Nora Springs in the book titled Iowa State Gazetteer (1865).
