From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Diamond was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Diamond post office opened in 1891.

We also found Diamond in the book titled Sixth Biennial Report of the State Mine Inspectors, Two Years Ending June 30, 1893.
