While we don't have a date for the founding of Wells, you might consider that their post office opened in 1885.
While the community is gone, the present day location for Wells is 700 feet [213 m] above sea level.<4>.
Time Zone: The area where Wells was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time
Note: If you travel west from Wells (for example, toward Mentone (AL)), you will leave Eastern Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Wells was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>
From that list, the Wells post office opened in 1885.
We also found Wells in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
