From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Mount Zion was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Mount Zion post office opened in 1818.

We also found Mount Zion on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1830.
