Welcome to Igo ...So far, we found very little information about Igo. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Igo to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. The location of Igo has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Igo, you might consider that their post office opened in 1886. From the Census Estimates for 2019, Igo has a population of 359 people<4> (see below for details). While the community is gone, the present day location for Igo is 740 feet [226 m] above sea level.<5>. Time Zone: The area where Igo was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel west from Igo (for example, toward Mentone (AL)), you will leave Eastern Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).
