While we don't have a date for the founding of Herod, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1892.

From the 2010 Census (the most recent Census number we have), Herod had a population of 3,384 people.<3> (see below for details).

We originally found mention of Herod in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Herod was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Herod post office opened in 1892.

We also found Herod on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1899.
