Time Zone: Terrell County lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Dawson is the Seat for Terrell County.

Terrell County was founded in 1856. Terrell was created by taking area from Lee and Randolph Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Terrell had a population of 8,573 people. This is a decrease of 7.97% since the last Census (which gave a population of 9,315 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Terrell represented 0.1% of the total population of Georgia.
