Welcome to Gates ...So far, we found very little information about Gates. The location of Gates has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Gates, you might consider that their post office opened in 1898. While the community is gone, the present day location for Gates is 1,580 feet [482 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Gates was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time The location where Gates once stood is in the (706) & (762)<5> area codes.
