From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Cohutta was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Cohutta post office opened in 1882.

We also found Cohutta on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1895.
