Welcome to Peru ...So far, we found very little information about Peru. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Peru to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Peru, please Contact Us. Peru would have been located within present day Hillsborough County<2>. The location of Peru has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Peru, you might consider that their post office opened in 1879. While the community is gone, the present day location for Peru is near sea level<4>. Time Zone: The area where Peru was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time The location where Peru once stood is in the (813) and (656)<5> area codes.
