At the time of the 2010 Census, Danbury had a population of 80,893 people (which is 8.82% of the total population of Fairfield County). This makes Danbury the county's 8th most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Danbury was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<10>

From that list, the Danbury post office opened in 1785.
