At the time of the 2010 Census, Littleton had a population of 41,737 people (which is 7.26% of the total population of Arapahoe County). This makes Littleton the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Littleton represents 0.83% of the population of Colorado (which has 5,029,196 people), making it the state's 20th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 41,737 people, the population of Littleton increased 3.46% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 40,340 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Littleton was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

From that list, the Littleton post office opened in 1869.
