Douglas County is one of the original counties of Colorado and was founded November 1, 1861.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Douglas had a population of 351,154 people. This is an increase of 22.36% since the last Census (which gave a population of 286,977 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Douglas represented 5.71% of the total population of Colorado.
