At the time of the 2010 Census, Castle Rock had a population of 48,231 people (or 16.81% of the total population of Douglas County). This makes Castle Rock the county's most populous community.

The population of Castle Rock represents 0.96% of the total population of Colorado (which has 5,029,196 people), making it the state's 17th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 48,231 people, the population of Castle Rock increased 138.48% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 20,224 people).
