From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sutter was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>
From that list, the Sutter post office opened in 1895.
We also found Sutter mentioned on a train schedule titled San Francisco, Napa & Calistoga Railroad Employees' Time Table #38 (April 1924).
