Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Sunnyvale had an population of 153,302 people. This is an increase of 9.44% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 16.35% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Sunnyvale had a population of 140,081 people (which is 7.84% of the total population of Santa Clara County). This makes Sunnyvale the county's 2nd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sunnyvale was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Sunnyvale post office opened in 1901.

We also found Sunnyvale mentioned on a train schedule titled Southern Pacific Railroad Time Tables (March 1908).
